A long time ago when I
was a kid, collecting bookmarks from the local public library was a
highlight of each visit. Well, I never stopped loving that
colorful cardboard kitsch, and over the years I've augmented the public
library offerings at every opportunity. Many are freebies
provided by businesses (book dealers are a great source, obviously);
many of them are souvenir bookmarks from around the world, given to me
by thoughtful friends. I'd love to share a few favorites from my collection, which now numbers 491 unique bookmarks and counting.
